What’s New in QuickBooks 2019

Intuit has announced the release of QuickBooks 2019 recently. Intuit is now going back to work more on the desktop editions like QuickBooks Pro, QuickBooks Premier, QuickBooks Enterprise, QuickBooks POS and QuickBooks Payroll as they have been heavily in demand. For the 2019 edition, the QuickBooks product team decided to emphasize on renovating the features and tools that they have been providing in previous versions. We tested the QuickBooks 2019 version and these are the improvements that caught our eyes. These changes should appear on all 2019 QuickBooks versions unless noted otherwise.

  • Tracking Vacations and Sick Time

We all know how complicated it was to track vacations and sick time of your employees on the previous versions of QuickBooks. As an Employer you do not want to underpay your employees but you also definitely do not want to overpay them, as that is just bad business. With the QuickBooks 2019 it has become really easy to track vacations and sick time. You get a notification on your screen if an employee has used too much sick time. It can easily be checked by going into the pay stub. It has new format- Accrued, Available and Used.

  • Inventory Enhancement

What’s more frustrating than tracking down miscalculations in Inventory? Nothing!

If you have used the previous versions of QuickBooks for maintaining and tracking your Inventory you would highly appreciate this new change. In the earlier versions, Inventory item summary will not list inactive items.

Now, if you attempt to mark an inventory inactive but it still has a value, you will get an error on your screen which will read:

“Hold on! This item’s Quantity on Hand needs to be zero before you make it inactive.”

We also get a bonus feature. This new feature in the Inventory Valuation Summary report that will show you the items that you have inactivated.

  • Invoice Tracker Improvements

This feature was already available I the QuickBooks Online version but not in the QuickBooks Desktop versions.  You can use this feature for;

  • Consolidated Snapshot: Now you do not have to go to multiple screens, you will be able to check history for one snapshot.
  • You will also be able to track status of the invoices that you have emailed. Know when the invoice was viewed so you can follow up accordingly.
  • Transfer of Credits for Customers and Jobs

In the earlier versions, the credit memo had to be created before applying it to a specific job.  Using this feature you will be able to apply credit memos across all jobs.
