  3. If you are using the Windows 8 version: Press the Windows key and then choose the user icon on the upper right of your screen.
  4. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete simultaneously and choose the default Administrator account.

 3: Hide the built-in Administrator account (as it was before)

  1. Press the Windows key again.
  2. Type in CMD and do not hit enter.
  3. Right-click CMD/ Command Prompt/ cmd.exe.
  4. Now, choose Run as Administrator.
  5. On the command prompt window, type in net user administrator /active: no
  6. Now, hit Enter.

 4: Change the security settings of the installation directory

  1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files.
  2. Right-click on the Common Files folder.
  3. Choose Properties.
  4. Choose Edit under Security tab.
  5. Choose Users under Group or user names.
  6. Under Permissions for users, Choose to allow for the permissions that we have mentioned below:
  • Modify
  • Read & Execute
  • List Folder Contents
  • Read
  • Write
  1. Choose Apply and OK.

 5: Install QuickBooks

  1. Attempt to install QuickBooks Desktop.
